Reading Resources

Our reading list provides content rich resources to aide in the research, study, and exploration of Americans of African descent in American history and in genealogical research. We also provide content rich resources to assist parents and teachers in introducing young readers to the colonial and revolutionary war era, and to aid struggling readers build fluency, vocabulary, historical concepts and comprehension skills. 

While our online resources are designed to help a new reader, a classroom teacher, or a scholarly researcher in learning American history, or on how to conduct genealogical research, our list will never be complete and we are constantly seeking new authors and new pieces to add to our resource list.
