Artifacts SOFAFEA’s Forgotten Patriots’ project will include artifacts that aim to forge a historical narrative that will explain the personal, military and social lives of the American men, women, and children of African descent who lived during the period of the Revolutionary War or served in actual combat. Muskets | During the war many of the Forgotten Patriots including Private Thomas Carney used the British military short land pattern musket, more commonly referred to as a Brown Bess. |
